Working within a busy food manufacturing environment producing a variety of different products including seafood. Duties will include putting together components, working on a production line and the packaging of finished goods, communicating with other departments and general housekeeping.

Qualities required:

  • Previous factory and manufacturing experience required, ideally in a food environment
  • Good systematic attention to detail with a logical approach to working
  • Understanding of health and safety in the workplace
  • Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Must be an enthusiastic team player with drive and ambition
  • The successful candidate will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and self-motivation

Shifts will be either Monday – Thursday or, Tuesday – Friday with working hours to be discussed.
Own transport is an advantage due to location.

The primary responsibility is the management of all specification systems, internally and externally to ensure compliance with technical and quality assurance accreditations. The role includes working to deadlines and providing varying information to meet customer requirements.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Management of both customer specification systems and Paramount specifications for continued company and customer compliance
  • Effective monitoring of supplier raw material databases to ensure all documents held are up to date.
  • Specification monitoring and reviews
  • Completion of raw material risk assessments and communication within the business where required
  • Completing internal audits of site systems and QMS procedures to ensure compliance, and all corrective action being followed up within the required timescales
  • Requesting accreditation certificates and reports from suppliers
  • Completing SAQ’s for customers as required
  • Complete trending information on supplier performance
  • Approval of raw material and packaging specifications
  • Reviewing and signing off artwork
  • To verify systems within the factory to ensure full traceability of all raw materials and packaging
  • To assist with traceability tests as and when required
  • Horizon scanning
  • Provide support and holiday /absentee cover to the QA team

Desirable Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a food manufacture environment
  • Recognised qualification such as HND/degree in a food manufacture discipline
  • Intermediate/advanced food hygiene certificate
  • Previous experience with retailer specification systems is advantageous
  • Experience in BRC/HACCP/ISO 14001
  • Knowledge of quality management systems
  • Understanding of food legislation, HACCP & TACCP principles
  • Previous experience dealing with auditors and auditing experience
  • Excellent attention to detail is key in this position
  • Effective communication skills at all levels
  • Self-motivated

Education:

  • Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)

Experience:

  • Specification management: 2 years (preferred)

This is a permanent, full time position working 8 hours a day Monday – Friday

Salary: £22,500.00-£27,500.00 per year

Reporting to the Production Engineer Manager, your primary responsibility will be to reduce downtime within the factory, through the use of preventative maintenance measures, ensuring that the factory maintains a high level of compliance against internal and external technical procedures. Your role will be to enable production in the most efficient manner, and to be proactive in the search for new equipment and processes, enabling constant improvement.

Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Training 

  • A good general education.
  • A sound working knowledge of the food industry and / or an engineering background.
  • Ability to understand production methods on line.
  • The ability to correctly interpret written and oral procedures.
  • Ability to work independently, and under pressure when required.
  • To be a practical person and good communicator across all levels.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all machinery required for the weekly production schedule is operational and efficient.
  • To ensure all contractors follow company procedures regarding quality and health and safety.
  • To review line efficiencies and look for ways of improving current KPI’s.
  • To look at areas of maximum downtime and take action to reduce these areas to agreed levels.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance scheme as per internal procedures.
  • To ensure that the correct hygiene and housekeeping practices are in place to satisfy all legal and customer requirements.
  • At all times ensure that the required level of effective Health and Safety procedures are carried out within your area.
