Meet the team…
A close-knit, dedicated team is the secret of Paramount’s success. Here’s a few of the key people:
I founded Paramount in 1988. Married to Reg for 30 years, we have two sons, Josh & Jake. We love skiing, walking (climbed Kilimanjaro in March 2013), oil painting, cricket, rugby, motorbike riding, food, cooking & travelling. I work with an amazing team at Paramount, and take as much time as I can off to enjoy the things that Reg and I love! Let’s face it none of us are getting any younger!
I joined in 2000 having previously worked for Fisher Foods, a chilled Seafood supplier to M&S. My strength is in people management and a “yes we can” attitude. Away from work I’m husband to Cheryl, a Dad to Sara & Amy, and a Grandad to Lola, all of them enrich my life (or so they tell me)! Spare time that’s easy, walking the coastal paths with Cheryl and our Labrador, Murphy. After which we always seem to find ourselves enjoying traditional pub grub washed down with a couple of cheeky halves of Devon’s finest real ale.
I joined in 1999 from my previous role as a Buyer at Kingfrost (Young’s). I find my role challenging yet enjoyable. The team are a great mix of members who like me, work hard but try to have fun in the process. When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my friends. There’s nothing like a shopping spree with my ‘Fruityboys’ or girly nights out. I’ve been known to partake in extreme sports, abseiling down Grimsby Tower for charity & bungee jumping off Victoria Falls over the Zambezi!
As Finance Director my role is centred on keeping the scores, saying ‘no’ and managing the finances to aid growth. I enjoy working at Paramount as everyone shares the same goals and philosophy on customer service and delivering quality. Outside of work, life is all about relaxing and enjoying family life with my wonderful wife and two children.
I’ve been working for Paramount for five years now as the Buyer, and my role is sourcing all the lovely ingredients that go into our award winning products. I live between a small town nearby called Chudleigh and London. When in the City I spend my free time going out to eat in lots of new restaurants, trying to see what is going to be big in the future! In my spare time in Devon I enjoy keeping fit, playing sports and cooking.
I joined Paramount in December 2010 and manage the Cornish Seafood Site in Newlyn, Cornwall. I work with my husband Luke and a small team of skilled filleters. We have 3 children, Shannon 12, Molly 6 and Tom 8 months and live a mile from Land’s End. When we’re not fog bound we enjoy walking our dog on the beach and when the weather is a bit rough a glass or two of red and experimenting with one of my many cook books!
Originally I trained as a chef, before moving into fresh fish and have been in the industry in Newlyn for over 12 years. I’m responsible for buying on the local markets and processing the fresh fish that is used in Paramount’s products. I enjoy spending time with our children, good food and socialising with friends. I’m an avid horse racing fan, enjoy rugby, cricket and support Arsenal. According to my wife, I’ll also watch tiddliwinks if it’s televised on Sky Sports!
I have recently joined the Paramount team in Australia as a Business Development Manager. I’m currently studying for my Bachelor of Commerce with Majors in Accounting and International Business and hope to have my degree finished by the end of next year. In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit and making the most of the warm weather that Australia has to offer. I also enjoy traveling and trying as many new restaurants as possible!
I’m a graduate in Food Technology and my career has included working with Heinz, Marks & Spencer, Cargill, Rahbek Foods and BJG Associates (a consultancy advising the industry on food safety, processing & design). I’m married to Linda and have three sons, Simon, David & Jack. I used to play hockey but now my hobbies are golf, fishing and drinking wine.
I’m responsible for looking after the National Pub & Restaurant Chains. Working with the NPD kitchen is an integral part of driving my accounts forward. I’ve been at Paramount for 4 years now but I’ve always had connections with Paramount during my career whilst at M&J Seafood & British Seafood. I have a daughter Hannah, who is 16 and keeps me on my toes!
I enjoy working with a fun bunch of individuals who all make Paramount a great place to be a part of. My role covers consumer insights, market research, brand management and advertising. When not at work I can be found at home spending time with my family and friends or if I’m being particularly good, you’ll find me at the gym.
I moved to Devon in 2008 when I was accepted into the Paramount fold. My role takes me all over the UK working with Wholesalers, Area Reps and end users. I love the customer interaction and the chance to present some of the best seafood products available to the Foodservice market. I enjoy relaxing with a good wine or exploring the coastline with my partner Case and our two mischievous dogs.
My role is exciting, diverse and challenging – which I love! Working with all the departments across our business showcases the strength, dedication and inspiration we have as a team at Paramount. I enjoy hockey & many other sports, spending time with my family & friends, and I adore my family farm. I live by my primary school motto “to try is to triumph”.
I’m the newest member of the Paramount Sales team and already relishing the hands on experience with my wholesale accounts. I’m a father of two Lillie and Oscar both of which I adore. My wife Hannah is very supportive both of my career and private life. I enjoy all team sports, keeping fit in my spare time and aim to become a semi-pro golfer.
The Operations side is about analysing the efficiencies and yields, but the Process half keeps my feet firmly on the ground. I don’t like the early mornings but I do enjoy the challenge of improving efficiency on a day to day basis. I enjoy entertaining friends, foreign travel and good food and drink. I grow chilli’s as a hobby and have 5 variations, the hottest being the almost inedible Ghost Naga Jolakia.
I joined in 2000, and was employed to run the sauce making unit at the Brixham unit 8. I was soon promoted to oversee production Line 1 then took on Line 2. Now at Heathfield I manage a team of 33+ people on 5 lines. My military background helps run the factory like it should and the bigger we get, the busier I get. I’ve been married to Ann for 37 years and have 2 boys. I have a West Highland Terrier called Charlie.
I joined in 1998 and have seen 4 factory re-builds and expansions, so I’m always kept busy. My main role is to keep production running smoothly, maintain the factory machinery and stay abreast of any innovations and developments that can help drive the business forwards. I’m a Devonian through and through, happily married to Lesley. I’ve 2 daughters & 4 grandchildren.
I started at Paramount in 2005, after working in the dessert and sandwich industries. The technical team here are kept very busy, working with all departments in the business to ensure top quality products. Outside of work, I’m married to Dean and we share our home with four cats. We have a busy social life, and we both enjoy cooking (and the wine that goes with it)!
I joined in 1999 so have witnessed first-hand the growth of Paramount and I look forward to being a part of the team of the future. I have a wide range of duties with anything from customer orders, to logistics, to production planning. I’m married to Martin and we have a son called Connor. Our Saturday’s are spent supporting Connor playing rugby for TARFC.
I joined Paramount in July 2013 to work closely with the Development Chefs to help move NPD forward. As a department we have to work closely with all functions of the business to ensure smooth transition of product concept through to launch. In my spare time I enjoy baking, socialising with family & friends and exploring the beautiful Devon countryside!
I’ve been a Development Chef at Paramount for over 15 years. I originally started with the company when it was situated in the seaside town of Brixham. I like this job as every day is diverse and rewarding, also it’s great to be able to develop new recipes and try new ingredients. Seafood is my passion that originated from my childhood in Sardinia.
