Our Sustainability Policy

Seafood products are the backbone of our business and therefore we are keen to ensure that plentiful supplies are available for future generations and to this end we are committed to ensuring that all our products are responsibly sourced.  Paramount 21 Limited recognises the urgent need to encourage and develop more sustainable fishing and aquaculture supplies worldwide. In support of this we will:-

• Actively promote products that contain seafood that has been certified as well managed and sustainable by the internationally recognised schemes run by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and Friends of the Sea or supplies that are considered sustainable by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) and Seafish schemes.

We purchase from within UK and International Regulatory Guidelines while maintaining our commitment to actively promote greater variety and under-utilised species. Where possible we endeavour to source from local fisheries e.g. sardine and sprats from the West Country where a large majority of the fleet is now signed up to the responsible fishing scheme.

We take an active interest in the activities of the environmental NGO’s (non governmental organisations) and regularly attend their seminars to keep up to date with the latest issues. We are supporting the assessment of the West Country sprat fishery by MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) and are developing new products to promote their use.
