Curious about Paramount

 A team of intrepid explorers from Newton Abbot’s Curious Club were pleased to be able to visit Paramount 21 Ltd, Heathfield.
The Curious Club arrange regular trips to see inside the ‘workings’ of various companies. The visit to Paramount was sold out well in advance, and another had to be added.
“It is so nice to be able to visit a local company who have been around for 21 years this year.” commented the Curious Club team.
The Curious Club members were split into three groups so that they could tour the factory throughout the day, looking at the three production lines before having a chance to sample the food in the New Product Development Kitchen.
“We were impressed to see how many people were working on the production; we thought so much was automated these days! It is lovely to see such lovely hand made food available on a large scale” said one of the visitors.
The groups enjoyed tasting of some of the products such as the Luxury Fish Pie, Salmon and Dill Fishcakes and Salmon and Smoked Haddock Tarts, before being shown into the Factory Shop where there was lots to buy!
The Fish Pie was adored by all with comments such as “This is the best Fish Pie I have ever tasted” and “It’s so much easier than making my own!”
Steve Lamont, Production Director at Paramount said “We were really pleased when the Curious Club asked to visit us, and were surprised when the trip ‘sold out’ so quickly. It’s lovely that there are people who are interested in supporting local companies.”
Paramount make frozen value added seafood and vegetarian dishes which are available at a number of wholesalers as well as direct to restaurants. They also produce their own brand retail range, Hannaford’s which is available through independent retailers.
Paramount run a Factory Shop every Friday from 9am to 1pm where a selection of their products are available direct to the public at bargain prices!
