The team at Paramount 21 is celebrating after winning two prestigious 2011 Great Taste Awards.  The company has been presented with two coveted Gold Awards for their Ultimate Fish Pie and Ultimate Fishcake products.

The Ultimate Fish Pie is the largest single fish pie in the market and is made with a mix of Hake, Vannamei Prawns, Salmon and West Country Smoked Haddock (which Paramount smoke themselves) in a creamy leek sauce, topped with Paramount’s signature mashed potato.

The Ultimate Fishcake is made with a mixture of Smoked Haddock and Salmon, and compliments the  new “Ultimate Range” launched in April of this year, which also includes the Ultimate Crab Cake and the Ultimate Seafood Chowder.

Paramount was founded by Ali Hannaford in 1988, and has steadily grown over the years to become a major name in seafood and a respected brand in the foodservice industry. Paramount now employ 60 staff, and have recently completed a £1 million factory extension and frying line installation, following grant funding from the European Fisheries Fund and Marine Management Organisation.

Sue Cullum, Sales & Marketing Director of Paramount, said: “The Ultimate Fishcake & Ultimate Fish Pie was developed by our innovative team of chefs to offer the utmost in premium quality and luxury to our customers. We are delighted to win these awards which is recognition of the hard work and dedication that goes into making superb food.”

The Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, are now in their 18th year and are going from strength to strength.  There were 7481 products entered from 1600 companies for this year’s Great Taste Awards, and it took 350 experts 34 days to blind taste all the entries and decide which entries would achieve gold awards.
